Board folder lives in a Google Drive folder shared between a Windows PC and a Mac mini (both running GreenLight Dash on the same board). Cards created on the Mac in the evening (10 HTML cards + 6 frames) uploaded to the Drive cloud fine, but the next morning on the PC none of the new .html files or the newer .database/board.json ever arrived in the local folder, so the board showed none of the new cards. Google Drive for desktop on the PC showed 'Syncing…' with only uploads of lock.json, excalidraw.log and the current .terminal/pty-*.log, then flipped to 'Up to date' while the cloud still had 10 files the local folder did not. Pausing/resuming Drive did not help. It also did not notice that the PC app had rewritten local board.json in the meantime. Cause appears to be that the app rewrites .database/lock.json every few seconds (heartbeat) and continuously appends to .terminal/*.log, so Drive's upload queue never drains and the download pass never runs — and the PC's newer board.json risked being uploaded over the Mac's version (which would have dropped the 16 new elements). Workaround used: fetched the missing files and the cloud board.json via the Drive API, copied the files into the folder root and atomically merged the missing element rows + media_map entries into local board.json; the app picked them up in ~3 s. Suggestion: keep lock.json / terminal logs (and any other high-frequency writes) outside the connected folder, or write the heartbeat somewhere Drive is not watching, and add a folder rescan / 'files present but no card' reconciliation for connected folders.
Steps to reproduce
1. Connect a board to a Google Drive for desktop folder on two machines. 2. On machine A create several HTML cards (app writes the .html files + board.json). 3. Wait for Drive to report the uploads complete. 4. Open the same board on machine B with the app running. 5. Observe Drive on machine B stuck on 'Syncing…' uploading lock.json / .terminal logs, then 'Up to date' with the new files still absent locally.
Expected
New .html files and the updated board.json arrive on machine B and the cards appear on the canvas.
Actual
Files and board.json never arrive; Drive reports 'Up to date'; board on machine B is missing all cards made on machine A. Machine B's own board.json rewrite then becomes the newer local version and could overwrite the cloud copy.
Error output
Drive for desktop activity: lock.json / excalidraw.log / pty-*.log 'Successfully uploaded' repeating; status 'Syncing…' then 'Up to date'. Cloud board.json: 147,476 bytes, 197 elements. Local board.json: 141,552 bytes, 181 elements.
Context
Connected/portable board folders + Google Drive for desktop (Windows 11 client, Mac mini as the other machine). Board id Maths_and_Science_Tuition. Element types involved: html, frame. Files written by the app that churn: .database/lock.json, .terminal/pty-*.log, excalidraw.log.
Environment
App version: 10.9.0
Platform: Windows 11 (AMD64)
