APP: Add option in “Reference Folders” to automatically show media files in the browser

Currently, “Reference Folders” do not show internal media in the media browser. I think each reference folder should be given an option to automatically show internal media in the media browser without importing it to the project.

The one difficulty with this is how to deal with folders within the reference folder. This is a real problem to solve but I don’t think it’s impossible. You currently have one depth level of folders representing boards. Would it be possible to create nested collapsible folders of the same type? So when a reference folder is added to the project and has the “show in media browser” option checked, it automatically adds a sub folder (same as the board collapsible folder but indented slightly) that contains all of the media and folders within it.

Cache generation wouldn’t happen until files are dragged into the video editor so that you’re not generating cache files unnecessarily and so there aren’t 100s of cache files being generated at once. There should be a little generating cache indicator on each clip instead of locking up like I believe it currently does. I’m also not sure if caching is 100% necessary all the time but that’s another topic.

Assuming this other feature request is implemented, when a board is opened, if a reference folder isn’t in its original location, it’s icon on the board reports that it’s disconnected (maybe red instead of green with a little broken link icon?). Clicking on the disconnected reference folder allows the user to reconnect it (but the folder remembers all previous connection paths so that moving back to the original system doesn’t require reconnecting again).

With these two feature requests combined, people could send board folders between one another super easily, with all their external media separate from the project, and collaborate seamlessly, without relying on other services like Github (which is not familiar for most video editors).
