AI Fill generates a bridging video clip between two moments of your timeline with an AI video model. Use it to smooth a hard cut, connect two scenes, or invent a transition no preset covers.

Insert a fill zone

Park the playhead where the bridge should go and click AI Fill in the timeline toolbar. A fill zone (3 seconds by default) opens at the playhead — clips are split and pushed apart across all channels so everything stays in sync. Only one zone can exist at a time; selecting the zone on the timeline opens the AI Fill panel.
Set the start and end frames
Click Extract frames from timeline: the editor snapshots the composited frames just before and just after the gap as the Start and End frames. You can also pick both frames manually from your board media.
Generate
- Choose a Model — first–last-frame video models such as Wan FLF2V.
- Pick a Duration. Changing it resizes the gap itself (0.5–30 s); if a model has a fixed clip length, the gap trims the result.
- Optionally describe the transition in the Prompt.
- Click Generate.
The result drops into the gap as a preview. Play it, then Apply fill to keep it, or Regenerate with different settings. Remove zone restores the original clip layout exactly.
Generated previews aren’t saved until applied — apply the fill before closing the project.
