The Editor is a multi-layer timeline that lives inside the same app as your boards. Combine clips, images, and text into a video project, render to MP4 / MOV / WebM / GIF.

Open the editor
Each board can hold many video projects. The currently active project opens when you click the Editor tab in the top bar.
Switch projects, create new ones, or duplicate existing ones from the project dropdown in the editor’s top bar.
The editor remembers the playhead position per project — switching tabs, switching projects, or restarting the app reopens each project right where you left off.
What you can build
- Single-clip exports — trim a long clip down to a shareable snippet.
- Multi-clip sequences — concatenate generated and imported clips with transitions.
- Reusable compositions — group layers into compound sequences and save them as presets.
- Image-over-video overlays — composite logos, lower-thirds, watermarks on top of footage.
- Title cards — text-only intros and end-screens.
- Kinetic typography — add a native MotionFast template from the editor’s left sidebar.
- Cross transitions — preset motion transitions between adjacent clips, plus AI Fill for generated bridges.
- Screen recordings — capture your screen with auto-zoom built from your clicks.
- Camera moves — push in, pan, orbit or whip-pan the whole composition from a single camera layer.
- Grids, rings and spirals — arrange a set of layers by a rule and move, animate and effect the whole arrangement as one layer (Grid Builder).
- Real 3D objects — put device mockups or your own models on the timeline and film them with the project camera (3D Model Layers).
- 2.5D photos, glows and motion blur — give a still photo real depth, trace a layer’s outline with a moving light, or smear a layer along its own motion (layer effects, overlay effects, Grow Fill).
- Dust, snow, sparks and dissolves — a simulated particle box filmed by the project camera, or a layer coming apart into its own pixels (Particle Solver).
- Shorts and reframes — cut a long recording into ready-to-post verticals, or smart-crop any footage cut by cut (AI Shorts, AI Reframe, AI Beats).
- Voice-over — record or synthesise narration and edit it word-by-word in the Transcribe Editor, then caption it with the AI Captions wizard.
Where data lives
Project state (clips, layers, keyframes, export settings) is stored in the board’s SQLite database under the project ID. Source files live in the board’s media folder. The Editor never modifies source files — every cut and crop is non-destructive metadata.
What to build in the Editor
| Want | Use |
|---|---|
| Cut, trim, sequence real footage | Editor |
| Multi-layer composite over video | Editor |
| Animate from scratch with HTML | HTML cards |
| Animate a device on a background | Mockup Generator |
| Drop-in kinetic typography and motion templates | Editor → Motion Fast |
MotionFast is part of the Editor; Mockups and HTML cards are separate content sources.
