Saving Media from Telegram

Forward, send, or paste any image or video to the bot and it lands on your active board.

Set the active board

In Telegram, send /boards. The bot lists your boards as buttons. Tap one to make it your active board. The bot confirms (“Active board: <name>”).

Subsequent media you send goes to that board until you switch.

Forward media from another chat

Long-press a photo or video in any Telegram chat → Forward → pick your bot. The bot:

  1. Downloads the media to your desktop machine’s media folder.
  2. Adds it as an element on the active board.
  3. Confirms in chat (“Added 1 image to <board>”).

The board is updated immediately in the desktop app — switching to the desktop app, you see the new element appear on the canvas.

Send directly

Attach a photo or video the normal way (camera icon → Photo / Video) and send to the bot. Same result.

Multiple files at once

Send an album (Telegram’s group of up to 10 photos / videos) and the bot adds all of them at once, as a group on the canvas.

File caption as note

If the message has a caption, the caption is saved as the element’s title and shown in the Lightbox right panel.

Limits

  • Telegram’s bot API caps file sizes at 50 MB for downloads. Larger files cannot be sent through bots; share via cloud storage and use Direct File URLs instead.
  • Compressed photo uploads from the Telegram app are lossy. To preserve original quality, attach the file as File instead of Photo (this skips compression).
