Importing a Shared Board

If someone sends you a board as an Export Board ZIP, you can import it into your own app as a copy you can edit.

From a ZIP archive

  1. Open (or create) the board the archive should land in.
  2. Click Share board in the top bar.
  3. Scroll to the Import board panel at the bottom of the dialog.
  4. Pick a mode:
    • Replace — the open board is overwritten with the import: canvas items, media, unsorted items, and saved video projects all come from the ZIP.
    • Append — the open board keeps its content and the import is added on top of it, with fresh IDs so nothing collides.
  5. Drop the ZIP onto the drop zone, or click it and choose the file.

The import always lands in the board that is open. For a clean import as its own board, create a new empty board first, open it, and import with Replace.

There is no import-from-URL field. A live share link is a read-only web page — to hand someone an editable board, send them the ZIP from Export Board, or the board folder itself. Both routes are covered in Importing and Exporting Boards.

What is imported

  • Every element (image, video, note, frame, shape) and the arrows between them.
  • The canvas layout and zoom.
  • Mockup and Video Editor project state.
  • All media files.
  • Sub-boards bundled in the archive.

What is not imported:

  • The original share URL — the imported board is independent.
  • Comments — they stay attached to the source share link, not the import.
  • Generation history — only the final media is preserved.

Resharing an imported board

You can share an imported board as your own live link. The new share is independent of the source — your edits do not affect the original, and vice-versa.
