GreenLight DashBoard ships frequent updates. Pro users get them automatically; free users can update manually any time.
Where updates come from
The app checks the GitHub Releases feed at github.com/wpsoul/greenlight-dashboard-releases on launch and once an hour while running. When a newer version is available it appears in:
- A small Update available badge on the Help & Resources button.
- The Account panel.
- The native menu bar (macOS) under GreenLight DashBoard → Check for Updates.

Auto-update (Pro)
With a Pro license the update downloads in the background as soon as it is detected. When the download finishes the app prompts you to restart. Restart at any convenient point — your boards and unsaved canvas state survive the restart because everything is persisted to the local database in real time.
Manual update (Free)
On the free plan the app does not download updates for you. To update:
- Open https://greenlightdash.pro and download the latest installer for your platform.
- Quit GreenLight DashBoard.
- Run the installer. It replaces the existing application in place; the user-data folder is left untouched, so all your boards and settings carry over.
Changelog
Open Help & Resources → Changelog to see what changed in each release. The same content is also on the website.
Rollback
If a release breaks something for you, download the previous installer from the public releases page and run it. Settings are forward- and backward-compatible across at least the previous few minor versions, so downgrading does not corrupt the database.
Skipping a release
There is no “skip this version” toggle. If you do not want to update right now, simply dismiss the prompt — the app will offer the update again next launch. To pause auto-updates entirely on Pro, sign out of your license; the app falls back to the free tier and stops downloading.
Troubleshooting
- Update prompt never appears — check Help & Resources → Show Onboarding Wizard → Check for Updates, or quit and relaunch the app. The first check runs at launch.
- Update fails to apply on Windows — close the app, run the installer as administrator, and choose the same install location.
- Update fails on macOS with a “damaged” warning — your downloaded DMG was incomplete. Delete it and download again.
