Quick Start Tutorial

This walk-through gets you from a clean install to your first AI-generated image in about ten minutes.

1. Open the app and pick a board

On first launch the app creates a default board and opens the onboarding tour. Close the tour for now — you can reopen it from Help & Resources later.

Click the Boards button in the top-left corner to see the list of boards.

Click + New Board, type a name (for example Quick Start), and press Enter. The new board opens with an empty canvas.

2. Add an API key

The app generates images and video through the model provider you choose. You need at least one API key to try generation.

Click the Settings gear in the top-right corner.

Paste a key into one of the supported providers — the easiest starting point is:

• WaveSpeed — single key that unlocks dozens of image and video models at provider prices. Get one at WaveSpeed AI.
• OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google — paste the matching key if you already have an account.

Click Save. Keys are stored locally in encrypted settings on your machine.

3. Paste a reference URL

Copy a link to a YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Pinterest, or X post. Switch back to the app and press Cmd-V (macOS) or Ctrl-V (Windows) anywhere on the canvas.

The app parses the link and downloads every media file from it onto the board. Posts with carousels become groups of images; videos arrive with their audio intact; thumbnails and posters are extracted automatically.

Direct URLs to a .jpg, .png, .mp4, or .webm file work the same way — paste the URL and the file lands on the board.

4. Generate an image

Click Generate Image in the floating toolbar at the bottom of the canvas. A generation panel opens.

1. Pick a model. With a WaveSpeed key the picker shows every model that key unlocks; with a direct provider key it shows that provider’s models.
2. Type a prompt, or click Enhance Prompt to have the app analyse a selected reference and improve the prompt for you.
3. Click Generate. The result appears on the canvas next to the reference.

To iterate, right-click the generated image and choose Regenerate — the app reopens the panel with the same settings and reference attached.

5. Connect a local folder

A board can be wired to any folder on your disk. New files dropped into that folder appear on the board automatically, and items deleted on the canvas disappear from the folder.

Click the Connected folder button in the top bar and pick a folder. The first sync shows you the files in the folder and lets you choose which ones to add to the canvas.

6. Save and share

There is nothing to save explicitly — every change is written to the local database the moment you make it. To share the board as a live link, click Share board in the top bar (Pro feature, see License Activation).
