Inviting and Joining

Access to a shared board travels as a single-use invite code. The owner creates one code per person and sends it over any channel; the invitee pastes it into their app and gets a local copy of the board that stays in sync.

Creating an invite (owner)

1. Open the shared board and click Collaborate in the top bar — the Collaboration panel opens.
2. Under Invite people, pick the role:
   • Can edit — full editing rights.
   • Can view — can open the board, see everyone’s live presence and follow along, but every edit is refused.
3. Click Create invite. The code appears once, as a block starting with GLC1-. Click Copy code and send it to the person — chat, email, anything.

Things to know about codes:

• One code, one person. A code can be used exactly once; a second attempt is refused with invite exhausted. Create a new code for each person, and a fresh one if someone loses theirs.
• The code is the key. It carries the room’s address and an access token, so treat it like a password — don’t post it publicly.
• Codes are shown only at creation. If you close the panel without copying, create another one.
• Invites are logged in the room’s audit trail along with who joined from them.

Only the board owner can create invites; editors and viewers don’t see the Invite section.

Joining from a code

1. In your own app, click Collaborate in the top bar and then Have an invite code?
2. Paste the code and enter your display name — that’s the name others see on your cursor, your selection outline and in the People list. A name is required.
3. Click Join board.

The app creates a new local board with the same name as the shared one, fills it with everything currently in the room — cards, arrows, frames, and the media files, which it fetches from the owner’s Cloudflare storage rather than from anyone’s computer — and opens it. From then on it stays in sync for as long as the app can reach the room, and catches up whenever it reconnects.

• You need a GreenLight PRO license to join. A free install shows the plans instead. Any PRO tier can join, including the regular one.
• You don’t need a Cloudflare account, and you never see the owner’s Cloudflare details.
• Joining a board you’re already a member of simply opens your existing copy; it never creates a duplicate.
• Your role is fixed by the invite. If you joined as a viewer and need to edit, ask the owner for a Can edit code and join again — the existing copy is reused.

Removing access

Per-person removal isn’t in the panel yet. Because every code is single-use, the people who can reach a board are exactly the ones you sent codes to. To stop sharing a board entirely, the owner can detach it as a local copy and, if the room should disappear too, delete it from their Cloudflare account.
