Editing Tools

Most edits run on the original file and produce a new element on the canvas — the source stays intact so you can compare or revert.

Where the tools live

• Element context toolbar — appears when an element is selected. Holds the most-used actions: crop, rotate, duplicate, group, delete.
• Right-click menu — full action list.
• Lightbox toolbar — see Lightbox Viewer.

Crop

Select an image or video → Crop. Drag the crop handles or pick an aspect-ratio preset (1:1, 4:3, 16:9, 9:16, 3:4, custom). Commit to replace the element with the cropped version. The original file stays in the board folder.

For videos the crop applies frame-wide, kept consistent across the timeline.

Resize

Drag any corner handle to resize visually on the canvas. For an absolute pixel size, right-click → Resize and type width and height. Aspect ratio is locked by default; hold Shift while dragging to break the lock.

Resizing on the canvas only changes display size, not the file. To physically downscale a file (for upload limits, for example), use Right-click → Convert → Resize in pixels.

Rotate and flip

• Rotate-90° handles are in the context toolbar (left / right).
• Free-angle rotate: grab the rotation handle above the selection box.
• Flip horizontal and flip vertical are in the right-click menu.

Extract audio (video only)

Right-click a video → Extract audio. The app pulls the audio track out and saves it as MP3 or M4A in the board folder. The new audio appears on the canvas as a waveform block.

Trim a video

Right-click a video → Trim. A timeline appears with in-point and out-point handles. Scrub, set the range, and commit — a new trimmed clip is added to the board.

Concat clips

Select two or more videos in order → right-click → Concat. The app stitches them end to end with no transition and adds the result.

Convert

Right-click → Convert opens a small dialog with format and resolution options:

• Image convert — switch between JPG, PNG, WEBP, AVIF; optionally resize.
• Video convert — switch container (MP4, WEBM, MOV) and codec; optionally resample fps.

All conversions run locally via FFmpeg (bundled with the desktop app).

Background removal

Select an image → right-click → Remove background. The app runs background-removal locally and adds a transparent-PNG variant next to the original. Works well for product shots, character cut-outs, logo extraction.

Upscale

Select an image → right-click → Upscale. Sends the image to the configured upscale model (set in Settings → AI Models). The upscaled result lands on the canvas with the source attached as a history reference.
