Installing the Panel

Install the CEP extension once. It then appears in AE’s Window → Extensions menu.

Download the ZXP

The signed installer is bundled with the desktop app. Open Help & Resources → After Effects panel → Download installer and pick the latest .zxp.

The simplest path is the free ZXP / UXP Installer from aescripts.

  1. Open the ZXP Installer.
  2. Drag the downloaded .zxp onto the installer window.
  3. Quit and restart After Effects.

The panel now appears under Window → Extensions → GreenLight DashBoard.

Manual install

If you prefer not to use the ZXP Installer:

macOS

  1. Quit After Effects.
  2. Move the .zxp file into:
   ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEP/extensions/com.greenlight.dashboard/

(Create the folder if it does not exist.)

  1. Allow unsigned panels — open Terminal:
   defaults write com.adobe.CSXS.11 PlayerDebugMode 1

(Adjust CSXS.11 to your AE version’s CSXS number.)

  1. Restart AE.

Windows

  1. Quit After Effects.
  2. Extract the .zxp into:
   C:\Users\<you>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CEP\extensions\com.greenlight.dashboard\
  1. In Registry Editor, set:
   HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\CSXS.11 → PlayerDebugMode = 1
  1. Restart AE.

Verify

In AE, Window → Extensions → GreenLight DashBoard. The panel opens and connects to the desktop app within a second.

If the panel says “Desktop app not detected”, launch the desktop app and click Reconnect in the panel.

Update

When a new panel version ships, the desktop app’s Help & Resources page surfaces a download link. Replace the previous .zxp with the new one (the ZXP Installer handles overwrite gracefully).
