- Continuous rasterization — nothing goes soft when the camera comes close — shape layers, text layers and MotionFast templates are now redrawn at the resolution they actually occupy on screen, the way After Effects continuously rasterizes vector art. A ribbon, a headline or a kinetic-type block holds its edge through a 4× push-in instead of magnifying pixels it already had. Layers the camera isn’t enlarging cost nothing extra, and the memory budget is sized from your machine’s real RAM and what your GPU reports.
- Quality belongs to the project now — texture quality moved out of App Settings into the player bar’s gear as PROJECT · QUALITY, so it travels with the project instead of depending on which machine opens it. Alongside it a Preview mode select: Draft keeps the preview at 1920 for a smooth playhead, Full renders it at the project’s real size — what to reach for when 4K text looks stepped on screen. The rendered file is identical either way.
- Text on Path — a text layer with a Motion Path can lay its letters out along the curve: by letters or words, kerning-true or evenly spread, with Spread, Spacing, Trim, perpendicular Offset and Rotate-with-path. Path progress carries the text along the curve letter by letter, so a closed loop wraps like a marquee. All of it keyframable, and split animations, the leading highlight, the randomizer and voice-synced captions compose per letter on the curve.
- Paths go anywhere, and leave something behind — copy any curve in the project into any other, so a camera can fly exactly the route a layer travels or six layers can share one run-up, with X/Y/Z Offset from path to move them in formation. Create shape from path traces a motion path as a real Line layer — the visible trail of the move, ready to style, trim and animate.
- Layouts that animate themselves — the Position Distributor gained Stagger (a per-property step between one layer and the next across Position, Rotation, Scale and Opacity, in four orders) and Capture Current, which pins every layer where it stands so the next layout you pick becomes a move instead of a jump. Plus Zigzag and Spiral layouts — and Use as Grid no longer rearranges your layers, because grouping now starts on a Current layout that keeps the arrangement you built.
- New this release — Kinetic Perspective Type, lines of type driving in across a tilted 3D plane and snapping flat to a lockup, with true sub-frame motion blur; the Punch Through camera preset; Design Tokens, your project’s own colour palette on the first line of every colour picker; collapsible option sections across all 38 templates; text sized as a share of the frame; and layer selection under a dollying or tilting camera.
- Fixes throughout — Neon Glow runs calm on text instead of trembling, thick strokes are no longer clipped at square ends and mitred corners, selecting a layer no longer arms its first keyframe for deletion, and the Track Matte popover clears the timeline’s resize bar.

v8.9.0 — The Render Settings modal, Puppet Bones and Camera Motion presets
- Render Settings modal — rendering now starts from one polished dialog — file type, resolution, frame rate (including NTSC 23.976 / 29.97 / 59.94), motion blur, video and audio bitrate, your own file name and a pick-a-folder destination. Finished renders save straight to your computer, with an optional duplicate on the board and a one-click Redownload.
- Rig — Puppet Pins with Bones (IK) — the After Effects Puppet analog on any layer: Position, Advanced, Bend and Starch pins plus two-bone IK limbs for walk cycles and waving arms. PRO.
- Camera Motion presets — 16 ready camera moves — cinematic pushes, orbits, handheld breath, seamless loops — in a full-screen browser with live 3D previews, plus uncapped camera zoom.
- Curves color effect — Photoshop-style tone curves on any layer or adjustment layer, with per-channel control.
- Audio fades — drag-out intro/outro fades on audio and video clips right on the timeline, with Linear / Smooth / Exponential curves.
- Keyframe quality-of-life — search in Add Property, one-click key selection in the Keyframe Builder, Grid Morph that keyframes itself as you add layouts — plus fixes across grids, camera clips and the player bar.

v8.8.0 — Grid Builder, Track Matte, the graph editor and a full AI editing suite
- Grid Builder — layouts as a living layer — select layers and arrange them by a live rule — rectangular, radial, spiral, wave, scatter, a true 3D sphere or along a drawn path. The grid is one layer you move, keyframe and effect as a whole, with per-cell reveals, stagger, jitter and Grid Morph blending one arrangement into another.
- Track Matte — use any layer as an alpha or luma mask for another, straight from the timeline — with badges that show exactly which layers are wired together, on which channel.
- A real graph editor — After Effects-style curves for every keyframed property: drag bezier handles into hand-shaped easings, hold keyframes, a full-window keyframe editor, and new AE-matched ease presets.
- The AI editing suite — AI Reframe turns horizontal footage vertical with subject tracking and per-cut Static / Follow / Custom crops; AI Shorts cuts long videos into ready-to-post clips with animated crops and captions; AI Beats snaps edits to the music; the Transcribe & Captions wizard adds word-accurate, voice-synced subtitles.
- Real 3D on the timeline — put device mockups (iPhone 17, iPhone Air, iMac and more) or your own .glb/.gltf/.obj models on a layer with screen artwork and environment lighting — and let Grow Fill creep an animated fill across shapes, text, or the actual 3D surface of a model.
- Sharper motion everywhere — new Motion Blur, Lines Draw and Neon Glow layer effects, a shape-path editor with Line layers and Trim Paths, layer parenting, Image → Vector tracing, paintable colour keyframes, timeline & layer markers and a text randomizer.

v8.1.0 — Karaoke text highlights, one-click private sharing and partial renders
- Highlights on their own clock — the text-animation Leading Highlight gains an Activation switch: keep it Synced to reveal or give it Own timing — its own words/lines/chars unit, stagger, hold, fade-in and an optional looping sweep, independent of how the text animates in. Fast type-in with a slow karaoke bar, line reveals with a word-by-word accent, even a sweep over static text — plus a ready-made Karaoke Sweep preset.
- One-click private sharing — “Create own private storage” is now a wizard: paste one Cloudflare API token and the app provisions your personal share stack on a free Cloudflare account — storage, comments database, worker and public URL — then switches sharing to it immediately. No command line, token used once and never stored.
- Render exactly what you need — the Render Video button is now a dropdown: render the full video, a time range, a selected sequence clip, or the current frame as a poster image dropped straight onto the board — all frame-identical to a full render.
- Colour LUTs on adjustment layers — load a standard .cube LUT onto an adjustment layer to grade everything below it, with a keyframable Intensity slider; the LUT travels inside the project and renders identically in exports.
- Your gradients, everywhere — the full gradient editor (stops, angle, linear/radial) arrives in the Mockup Generator, and both it and the Video Editor can now save custom gradient presets that persist on your machine.
- Faster workflows — right-click Copy/Paste settings transfers a layer’s whole look between layers and projects; 3D text objects with extrusion join the Flipbook Builder; press E to toggle card connectors on the canvas.

v8.0.0 — The 3D release: world view, camera paths and animatable templates
- Your shot in true 3D — a new 3D view in the player bar turns the preview into a real 3D world — layers stand at their true depths, the project camera is a live proxy with a frustum cone, and full Move / Rotate / Scale gizmos work on layers and the camera itself, depth axis included. Draw camera paths as editable bezier splines and fly the camera along them with a keyframable Path Progress track — reshape the curve and the move reshapes with it.
- Animate a template’s own options — motion-template options are now keyframable — a ◆ appears next to every option a template can genuinely animate (bar thickness, colours, sizes, angles) and one click turns it into a keyframe track with the same easings and timeline diamonds as everything else. Colours interpolate properly instead of snapping.
- Four new MotionFast templates (PRO) — Tag Wall — an endless wrapping wall of glowing text pills with your logo timed to cross centre frame; Media Orbit — photos open full-frame, join a spinning carousel ring and burst into a depth-of-field collage; Comment Card — a social comment that builds itself on screen with YouTube, Instagram and X action rows, six card looks and per-word highlights; Glow Edge Pill — a capsule whose lit edge traces itself on, complete with a clickable end beat.
- Six new adjustment-layer effects — Aura Blur melts edges into a density-tinted halo, Wave Ripple carves content into drifting scanlines with contour rings, Flash Blink strobes, pulses or flickers everything below it, plus Mirror, Wave Warp and Wave Lines — all keyframable and identical in preview and export.
- Faster everywhere — the app starts with about 60% less to download (the Video Editor, Mockup Generator, HTML editor and 3D viewer load on first open), off-screen HTML cards pause instead of redrawing invisibly, zooming back in no longer freezes the board, and panning a large board no longer rebuilds arrow geometry every frame.
- Typography for the canvas — frame titles and sticky notes get default fonts in settings — the same picker as the Video Editor, custom uploads included — individual frames can carry their own title font, and shared boards and HTML exports embed the chosen families.

v7.7.7 — A real camera, animated charts and the Flipbook Builder
- A real camera for your timeline — Add camera drops a camera layer onto the timeline and everything under it moves through that lens — Zoom, Pan, Dolly, Tilt and Roll, each keyframable like any other property. Because the camera is an ordinary clip you trim it, drag it, undo it and animate it with the same keyframe editor as everything else, and outside the clip the shot returns to neutral. Thirteen presets get you moving in one click — Quiet Push, Wide Reveal, Parallax Arc, Crane Rise, Whip & Land, Handheld Breath, Focus Chase and more — and any channel can opt out of the camera to stay locked to the frame, which is what you want for titles and watermarks.
- Depth of field — the camera carries a real focus rig — Focus Distance, Aperture and a draggable Focus Point — so you can throw the background soft and rack focus between layers over time. Widen the Focus Area to hold a whole band of the shot sharp instead of a single depth.
- Screen recordings auto-zoom with the camera — auto-zoom on a recording now emits a camera move instead of scale and pan keyframes on an adjustment layer, so callouts, cursors and overlays composited on top travel with the zoom instead of sliding off it.
- Zoom and pan the preview — the preview canvas now behaves like a proper editor viewport — scroll to zoom, drag the grey surround to pan, with a zoom readout that snaps back to Fit or true 1:1. The transform gizmo is no longer clipped at the frame edge either, so you can grab the handles of a layer parked outside the frame and animate it in.
- Charts, natively animated — a new Charts category in MotionFast brings 15 data templates that render on-device with the rest of the timeline — Column Chart, Rotated Columns, Stacked Columns, Ranked Bars, Bar Chart Race, Line & Area, Donut, 3D Donut, Gauge & KPI Rings, Candlestick, Waterfall, Funnel, Radar, Heatmap and KPI Stat Tiles. Type your numbers into the panel and they animate in — no spreadsheet, no screen capture. They load only when you actually use one, so the template picker opens just as fast as before.
- Four new motion templates — Gradient Sweep Text runs a soft gradient wipe across a headline, Typewriter Text Frame types a line out inside a framed card, Text Cursor Select sweeps a cursor through a phrase and highlights it, and Comment Thread Camera flies through a stack of chat comments for UI-style product shots.
- The Flipbook Builder — a new full-screen 3D blocking tool for planning a shot before you generate it. Drop in primitives — cube, sphere, plane, torus, cone, cylinder, plus human and car stand-ins — keyframe their position, rotation and scale, and fly a camera through with presets like Orbit 360, Push In, Pull Back, Crane Up and Arc Left. Render the result as a clean reference video to drive a video model that follows camera direction.
- Masks and adjustment layers no longer wreck the render — any frame carrying a clip mask or an adjustment layer used to drop the project background entirely and leave a 1px white fringe around every masked edge — worst on text masks, where antialiasing turned into hard stepping and moving edges shimmered. Those frames are now flattened onto the background before encoding, so what you export matches the preview.
- Reference slots match what each model actually accepts — media fields now honour the per-model, per-type limit instead of guessing — Seedance omni, for example, correctly offers 9 image, 3 video and 3 audio slots — and dropping in too many files tells you the real cap instead of silently discarding the extras.

v7.0.0 — Effects, motion blur and mockups inside the Video Editor
- Effects on adjustment layers — an adjustment layer can now run a stack of real GPU effects over everything beneath it — Glow, RGB Split, Digital Glitch, Scanlines, Film Grain, VHS, Fisheye, Vignette, Radial Blur, Sharpen and Shockwave, or your own custom GLSL shader. Each has its own controls, they chain in order after the colour grade, and a single master Amount can be keyframed to dial the whole stack in and out over time — identically in the preview, in exports and in server renders.
- Motion blur on render — a new Blur dropdown in the render bar adds true shutter-angle motion blur — Subtle (90°), Normal (180°), Strong (270°) or Max (360°) — by rendering each moving frame several times across the shutter and averaging them. It covers keyframed transforms, including adjustment-layer zoom and pan, and speed-ramped video; still frames cost nothing, and the preview stays sharp so you can keep cutting.
- Mockups, right inside the Video Editor — a new Mockups tab lists every device — website frame, iPhone, iPad, MacBook, iMac, image grid or no device at all. Pick one and the full Mockup Builder opens over the editor, seeded with that device; commit it and the finished animation lands on your timeline as an ordinary clip. Double-click that clip later to reopen the builder and re-render it in place, so the mockup stays editable instead of becoming a dead video file.
- Transparent WebM footage plays and renders properly — alpha WebM clips used to preview as a black rectangle because the editor played their opaque proxy; the original is now used, so transparency shows on the canvas exactly as it will in the export. Renders of those clips are also around 10× faster, thanks to a new sliding-window frame cache built for WebM.
- A keyframe editor with one track per property — the keyframe panel now draws a separate mini-timeline for every animated property, so fade, scale and rotation sit side by side instead of one at a time. Drag a box across the rows to grab keys from several properties at once, shift-click to add individual keys, and move the whole group together — with magnetic snapping to neighbouring keys (hold Alt to bypass it). Clicking empty space seeks the playhead there.
- Seven new MotionFast templates — a new Carousels category arrives with Card Rail, Stacking Cards, Unstacking Cards and Tiled Gallery (grid or masonry, with scrolling layouts), joined by Prompt Card Click and Social Post for UI-style product shots and Split Clones for typography — all native motion layers, rendered on-device with the rest of your timeline.
- Three new animated shader backgrounds — Glow Blobs, Blue Planet and Aurora Ridge join the shader library, available for project backgrounds and shape fills in both the Video Editor and the Mockup Builder.
- Copy path on any media card — the card context menu can now copy a file’s real path on disk, with symlinks resolved — so a card living in a connected board folder reports the location you actually keep it in.

v6.5.0 — Smooth zoom-out on big boards & visual-editor fields that hold their value
- Values you type in the Color and Layout panels finally stick — the visual editor’s preset fields used to push every keystroke straight into the page, so a half-typed value like “ce” was rejected as invalid CSS and the field snapped back to its old value on every character — the controls looked broken. They now commit when you leave the field or press Enter (Escape cancels), and picking a preset still applies instantly.
- Shorthand properties stop reverting — editing BG Position — and border radius, border width/style/colour, gap, text decoration, overflow, transition, place items and inset — appeared to do nothing and snap back, because the editor could only read the browser’s longhand pieces and never saw the shorthand you had just set. It now reads those values back correctly, so the edit holds.
- Zoom out across a big board without it falling apart — cards that get small on screen now draw as their preview image instead of staying live — HTML cards stop animating, video players stop decoding, full-res photos aren’t loaded — so the flashing and blank gaps at far zoom are gone. Below a certain size a card paints as a single block of its own dominant colour, so even a fully zoomed-out board still reads as itself instead of a grid of grey boxes.
- The zoom-out limit is gone — because small cards are no longer live, boards with lots of HTML cards no longer stop at 35% — every board zooms out all the way. A new App settings entry, Simplify small cards when zoomed out, lets you set the threshold (Never, or below 50 / 90 / 150 / 250 px on screen).
- A minimap that looks like your board — the minimap now paints each card in the colour extracted from its own preview instead of a flat per-type grey, so it is far easier to find the part of the board you are after.
- Export an HTML card straight from the board — the HTML card’s toolbar button is now Export and opens the visual editor directly on its export panel, instead of making you open the editor and hunt for the button.
- Custom motion templates just work — the App settings switch that gated user-imported MotionFast templates is gone — importing a template is the consent — so imported templates always load. Imports still go through the same validation as before.

v6.0.0 — Video inside motion templates, two new templates & true transparent renders
- Videos inside MotionFast templates — any template media slot now takes MP4/MOV footage alongside photos — drop a clip into a card, a grid tile or a marquee cell and it plays there, looping for as long as the template runs. Frames are decoded on the fly, so the preview, the local export and the server render all show exactly the same thing, and a file the app can’t play is flagged in the panel instead of rendering black.
- Two new motion templates — Scatter Cards scatters a deck of media cards through the frame and flows them past the camera, and Wave Marquee runs your words along a rolling wave — both native motion layers, rendered on-device with the rest of your timeline.
- 3D Grid Reveal takes video tiles — the grid template’s media slots accept footage as well as stills, with each tile re-cut every frame so moving images stay sharp instead of freezing on their first frame.
- Templates now sit on your project background — motion templates no longer paint their own backdrop — they render transparent and composite over the project background and whatever layer sits beneath them, so one control owns the stage instead of two fighting each other.
- Transparent renders that actually stay transparent — server-side renders with alpha now go through a real transparent encoder end to end, and clips whose aspect doesn’t match the canvas no longer punch opaque black bars through the alpha channel — overlay renders drop cleanly onto anything.

v5.9.5 — Sequence panel opens itself & playhead-anchored timeline zoom
- Sequence settings open by default — selecting a Sequence layer now shows its panel expanded straight away, so Edit sequence, Ungroup and Save as preset are one glance away instead of tucked behind a collapsed header.
- Timeline zoom now follows the playhead — pinch- or Ctrl/⌘-scroll zooming the timeline keeps the playhead centered and grows evenly on both sides of it, and you can now zoom much further out to take in a long project at a glance.
- Preset dropdowns no longer get clipped — the keyframe and text-animation preset pickers now float above the inspector instead of being cut off by its edge.
